View content from your Android mobile device on your TV when you cast your Android screen.

This feature is only available on devices running Android 8.0 or later.

Step 1. Get started

  • To help make sure your Android device has enough available power, turn off its low power mode or battery saver.

  • Important: To allow your Android device to cast its screen, turn on the microphone permission in the Google Play Services app.

    1. On your Android device, tap Settings⚙️

    2. Scroll down and tap Apps > Google Play Services > Permissions.

    3. Find "Microphone" > toggle on the permission

Step 2. Cast your screen from your Android device

  1. Make sure your mobile phone or tablet is on the same Wi-Fi network as your Chromecast device.

  2. Open the Google Home app.

  3. Touch and hold the tile of the device you want to cast your screen to > Cast screen.

Step 3. Stop casting your screen from your Android device

From the Google Home app

  1. Make sure your mobile phone or tablet is on the same Wi-Fi network as your Chromecast device.

  2. Open the Google Home app.

  3. Touch and hold your device's tile > Stop mirroring.
